A Tribute To Spring
I get so excited to see blossoms on the trees and in the grass. My spirit is as renewed as the red bud’s copious flowers glow in the sunlight. The lilacs are about to trumpet their arrival. Cherry blossoms sparkle in the sun The violets gossip in the grass. The maple trees are about to let go of a bumper crop of twirly seed pods… …and the squirrels love to eat them. The robins are back and listening for worms under the earth. Sparrows twitter at the feeders. Vinca twinkles with purple flowers Bleeding hearts nod from their stems in rows. Tulips have just opened and sway in a gentle breeze. And Hostas poke out from under the leaves. Wild lettuce is ready to pick. There are enough chives to take a snip . I wash and spin dry the leaves. I see, smell, hear, and feel Spring all around… …Now I must taste it!
